We're thrilled to announce the launch of the JA BizTown Mobile pilot tour coming to a middle school near you this spring! This impactful program combines in-class learning with a half-day experience in a simulated town, all without leaving school.
Students become employees during their JA BizTown Day, operating a town-based economy while taking on the challenge of running a business with their peers and community volunteers. They will get hands-on experience as both employees and consumers, paying rent, taxes, and utilities; buying advertising from the radio station; purchasing insurance; tracking deposits and expenses from their paychecks; buying other business’ products; handling customer service, and more.
We need your help to make this launch a success! We've created an online registry with essential items to help get the program off the ground. By purchasing items from this online registry or a local business of your choice, you will be supporting the start of something that will impact youth in central IL for years to come.
Please visit our online registry or local business of your choice and start shopping to support smart financial futures: https://amzn.to/4heeln0
Stay tuned for JA BizTown volunteer opportunities at Bloomington Junior High School, Pleasant Hill School, and Reservoir Academy this spring. Interested in your school joining the pilot this spring? We will be accepting one or two more middle schools this spring before we start planning the 2025-2026 JA BizTown Mobile tour dates!
